Recycling Coffee

There are a few ways you can recycle your used coffee grounds and reduce your environmental impact:

  1. Composting: Coffee grounds can be added to a compost pile or bin along with other organic materials, such as food scraps and yard waste. The grounds will break down over time and help to enrich the soil in your garden.

  2. Using as a fertiliser: Coffee grounds can also be used as a fertiliser for plants, as they contain nutrients such as nitrogen and potassium that can help plants grow. Simply sprinkle the grounds around the base of your plants or mix them into the soil.

  3. Repurposing in the kitchen: Used coffee grounds can be used in a number of ways in the kitchen. For example, you can mix them with sugar to create a scrub for exfoliating your skin, or use them to add flavour to marinades or dry rubs for meat.

  4. Donating to a local garden or farm: If you have a large quantity of used coffee grounds, you may be able to donate them to a local garden or farm that can use them for composting or fertilising. This is a great way to give back to the community and help reduce waste.
