Step 1

Measure out 15 grams of freshly roasted beans and grind them on medium grind.

Step 2

Place a paper filter in the cone and rinse it using hot water, letting it drain into your mug. Pour out this water.

Step 3

Make sure the switch is flipped up. The ball should be blocking the end of the cone.

Step 4

Place your Hario Switch and mug on a scale, and pour your coffee grounds into the filter. Zero out the scale.

Step 5

Pour 240 ml of hot water over the grounds. Gently stir to mix the water with the grounds to completely saturate them.

Step 6

Set a timer for 4 minutes.

Step 7

After 4 minutes, gently swirl the brewer to flatten the coffee bed. While you do this, the coffee will slowly draw down into your cup. This should take around 45 seconds.

Step 8

Holding the rubber base, remove the brewer and place it in the sink.
