Moka Pot Brew Guide

Step 1

Grind your coffee a little larger than granulated sugar. You will need about 20 grams of coffee for a 6 cup mocha pot.

Step 2

Pour water into the bottom chamber of the moka until the water is level with the valve.

Step 3

Place the funnel into the grounds

Step 4

Fill the funnel with coffee grounds. Then level them and wipe the rim clean. Do not tamp the grounds.

Step 5

Screw the moka pot spout. Be sure it’s nice and tight.

Step 6

Place the moka pot on the stove over medium heat. For gas stoves, make sure the flame Isi the same size as the pot or smaller to avoid heating up the handle.

Step 7

While the water heats to a boil, you will begin to hear a hissing, gurgling sound. This is the perfect time to remove the moka pot from the heat.

Step 8

Let the moka pot sit for a minute for the coffee to flow into the upper chamber. Now you can (carefully) pour your brew into your favorite mug!
